A Belfry Theatre Production
Fall 2010

A world premiere, The Life Inside is a beautiful piece of music theatre created by two people I’ve admired for a long time, James Fagan Tait and Joelysa Pankanea.

I saw their adaptation of Chirstmas Carol at the Vancouver Playhouse a few years ago and fell in love.

This is also the first production that I’ve ever been a part of a workshop as well.  Watching James and Joelysa in the midst of their creation process was an insipiring time and I’m so grateful to play “The Stranger” in this amazing show.  Don’t miss it!!!

About the Show

Like their celebrated adaptation of Crime and Punishment, Tait and composer Pankanea have crafted a highly stylized, yet cinematically performed piece that engages both the heart and the mind. Peasants on a country estate must deliver tragic news regarding a young girl to the members of her family, whom we see through the windows of their home. The tensions between life and death, happiness and profound sadness, blissful ignorance and painful knowledge give The Life Inside a bittersweet, aching quality, and a connection to a universal wisdom as old as man.
