Take a Chance on Me!
During the American Civil War, a young girl named Jo March living in Concord, Massachusets, sets out on a grand journey to become the greatest writer of all time! Backed by her three sisters, their loving mother and the sweet but goofy boy next door, Laurie, Jo writes horrific “blood n’ guts” stories and creates incredible adventures to share with her family and friends.
As her family is torn apart by war, marriage, death and loss, Jo struggles to find a way to become “astonishing”. Will she finally give up the fight after dozens of rejections from New York publishers, or will she realize the family that loves her more than anything will always be the “fire within”?
A joyous musical with a sweeping score, “Little Women: The Musical” was the final production as part of the Citadel Theatre/Banff Centre Professional Theatre Program in 2011.
