A Christmas Carol

Based on the book by Charles Dickens • Adapted by Tom Wood • Directed by Bob Baker & Geoff Brumlik

Dickens’ Classic

A Christmas Carol has been running for more than a decade at the Citadel over the holidays, making it one of the city’s favorite holiday traditions!

Known through all of London for his greed and hostility, Ebeneezer Scrooge marches home after a long day in his grey, cold office shared by the big hearted Bob Cratchit.  The walls tremble and shake as the ghost of Scrooge’s old business partner, Jacob Marley, appears with a dreadful warning: change your ways, or be doomed to walk the earth forever carrying the chains of your misdeeds.

Scrooge will be visited by three specters: The Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and the monstrous Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come.  The latter, an 18-foot tall demon which can appear and vanish before your very eyes.

Featuring a cast of more than 30, The tale of Ebeneezer Scrooge and his transformation from a greedy old hum bug to an embodiment of the true meaning of Christmas comes alive on the Maclab’s thrust stage.

CAST (selected): Jeremy Crittenden as “Young Ebeneezer” and “The Ghost of Christmas to Come”, Rick MacMillan & James MacDonald as “Scrooge”, Julian Arnold as “Bob Cratchit”, Rejean Cournoyer as “Jacob Marley” and Ashley Wright as “The Ghost of Christmas Present”
